I just completed the score to a moving 15-minute short film about the life lessons one man learns after having been diagnosed with cancer. Alessio, the Italian-born director, basically lived the script out in his own life, and it's certainly a heartfelt and sincere story, with a positive message in the end. It was my first bona-fide Short Film score, and I think it serves the film well, even though it was done on an
extremely short 36-hour timetable.
Now "in the can," it'll next be sent to the Cannes -- Cannes, France, for entry into the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, and I think it's got a great shot of being selected. We'll find out in April, so when I'm able to disclose more I definitely will. For now, I'm grateful for the experience and look forward to writing the music for more shorts in the future!
