Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to work directly with world-renowned ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. Jeff has a new animated feature film due out this fall called Achmed Saves America, centered around his dead-terrorist puppet-character Achmed. Nathan Wang was hired to compose the music, and as a member of Nathan's team I was asked to help produce Jeff's (see Achmed's) recording session for one of the film's songs. It was a great experience to produce someone of such unique talent as Jeff Dunham. Not being a trained musician, he needed my assistance in the area of "note detection," and I was able to go into the booth and sing/record a guide track for him for that purpose. The song also had to be significantly adjusted on-the-fly to suit the ever-changing screen action. Overall it was a great experience, and I'd like to thank Nathan Wang for the opportunity.The film itself is very funny and entertaining with great music by Nathan Wang - - so look for Achmed Saves America on TV (probably Comedy Central) this fall!
